"ICT BANK"

1.http-The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a networking protocol for distributed, collaborative, hypermedia information systems.HTTP is the foundation of data communication for the World Wide Web.
2.html-HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup languageweb pages. HTML is the basic building-blocks of webpages. A markup language is a set of markup tags, and HTML uses markup tags to describe web pages.
3.US DARPA-
4.Arpanet-The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET), was the world's first operational packet switching network and the core network of a set that came to compose the global Internet. The network was created by a small research team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the United States Department of Defense. The packet switching of the ARPANET was based on designs by Lawrence Roberts of the Lincoln Laboratory.
5.Bandwidth-a data transmission rate; the maximum amount of information (bits/second) that can be transmitted along a channel

6.url-In computing, a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that specifies where an identified resource is available and the mechanism for retrieving it. In popular usage and in many technical documents and verbal discussions it is often incorrectly used as a synonym for URI..The best-known example of the use of URLs is for the addresses of web pages on the World Wide Web.
7.ip address-An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer) participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. Its role has been characterized as follows: "A name indicates what we seek. An address indicates where it is. A route indicates how to get there.
                                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address
8.usb-Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a specification to establish communication between devices and a host controller (usually a personal computer), developed and invented by Ajay Bhatt while working for Intel.USB has effectively replaced a variety of interfaces such as serial and parallel ports.
USB can connect computer peripherals such as mice, keyboards, digital cameras, printers, personal media players, flash drives, Network Adapters, and external hard drives. For many of those devices, USB has become the standard connection method.
9.lcd-A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat electronic visual display that uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals (LCs). LCs do not emit light directly.
They are used in a wide range of applications, including computer monitors, television, instrument panels, aircraft cockpit displays, signage, etc. They are common in consumer devices such as video players, gaming devices, clocks, watches, calculators, and telephones. LCDs have displaced cathode ray tube (CRT) displays in most applications. They are usually more compact, lightweight, portable, less expensive, more reliable, and easier on the eyes. They are available in a wider range of screen sizes than CRT and plasma displays, and since they do not use phosphors, they cannot suffer image burn-in.
10.crt-The Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube containing an electron gun (a source of electrons) and a fluorescent screen, with internal or external means to accelerate and deflect the electron beam, used to create images in the form of light emitted from the fluorescent screen. The image may represent electrical waveforms (oscilloscope), pictures (television, computer monitor), radar targets and others.
The CRT uses an evacuated glass envelope which is large, deep, heavy, and relatively fragile.
11.cd room-A CD-ROM is pre-pressed compact disc that contains data accessible to, but not writable by, a computer for data storage and music playback.
CD-ROMs are popularly used to distribute computer software, including games and multimedia applications, though any data can be stored (up to the capacity limit of a disc). Some CDs hold both computer data and audio with the latter capable of being played on a CD player, while data (such as software or digital video) is only usable on a computer (such as ISO 9660 format PC CD-ROMs). These are called enhanced CDs.
                                 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM
12.ram-Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today, it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow stored data to be accessed in any order (that is, at random). "Random" refers to the idea that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether it is related to the previous piece of data.
13.ict-ICT consists of all technical means used to handle information and aid communication, including computer and network hardware, communication middleware as well as necessary software. In other words, ICT consists of IT as well as telephony, broadcast media, all types of audio and video processing and transmission and network based control and monitoring functions.
14.cpu-The central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program, and is the primary element carrying out the computer's functions. The central processing unit carries out each instruction of the program in sequence, to perform the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of the system. The form, design and implementation of CPUs have changed dramatically since the earliest examples, but their fundamental operation remains much the same.
15.led-A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices, and are increasingly used for lighting. Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962,early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness.

12 dead in Navotas fire

Posted at 01/30/2011 12:57 PM | Updated as of 01/30/2011 4:04 PM

MANILA, Philippines – A huge fire killed at least 12 people in Barangay San Roque, Navotas Saturday night, while in the middle of celebrating their patron saint's feast day.
As of posting time, only 4 people including George Milagroso, 28; a certain Gerald, 12; a certain Natalia, 11; and a certain Angel, 10, have been identified by the police.
The authorities have also yet to name the cost of the damaged properties.
The fire reportedly started before 12 midnight and spread to the paper trimmings suspended along the streets' cables.
The fire, which reached a Task Force Alpha alarm level, then spread towards the San Roque Elementary School. At least 100 households have also been affected.
Extinguishing the fire reportedly took long due to the lack of reliable water hydrants. Fire trucks were also unable to enter the narrow streets.
Police have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, Mayor John Ray Roque vowed to give aid to the residents affected by the incident.
The affected residents have sought refuge at the San Roque High School.

HAIL MARY

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

PANUNUMPA SA WATAWAT

Ako ay Pilipino
Buong katapatang nanunumpa
Sa watawat ng Pilipinas
At sa bansang kanyang sinasagisag
Na may dangal, katarungan at kalayaan
Na ipinakikilos ng sambayanang
Maka-Diyos, makatao,
Makakalikasan at
Makabansa

LUPANG HINIRANG

Bayang magiliw,
Perlas ng Silanganan,
Alab ng puso,
Sa dibdib mo'y buhay.
Lupang Hinirang,
Duyan ka ng magiting,
Sa manlulupig,
'Di ka pasisiil.
Sa dagat at bundok,
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw,
May dilag ang tula
At awit sa paglayang minamahal.
Ang kislap ng watawat mo'y
Tagumpay na nagniningning,
Ang bituin at araw niya
Kailan pa ma'y di magdidilim.
Lupa ng araw,
ng luwalhati't pagsinta,
Buhay ay langit
sa piling mo;
Aming ligaya,
na 'pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay
nang dahil sa iyo.
